We’re collecting 16 oz jars of peanut butter for our church’s Backpack Ministry, which discreetly sends home weekend meals with students facing food insecurity. They currently pack about 190 bags every week.
16 oz jars of peanut butter are one of the items the ministry has the most difficult time sourcing. The items need to be small and light enough to be carried easily in a child's backpack, and their usual sources like the Mid Ohio Food Collective or warehouse stores (Costco, BJ's) typically only carry larger jars.
Our goal: 2,555 oz — 1 oz for every day of marriage. That’s 159 lbs or 159 jars (16 oz each).
Every donation enters you into a raffle to win a peanut-butter-themed gift basket. You’ll receive 1 raffle entry per 16 oz jar or per $2 donated. The deadline to enter is Sunday, October 11th. The drawing will take place on October 12.
